Our Policy

We are an independent Optician with 45 minute examination times (many are only 20-25 minutes) creating a less rushed, relaxed atmosphere giving plenty of time with each patient to make sure your eyes are looked after and that you can see as well as possible all your life.

No sales pressure – we will only recommend something if you need it and you are always welcome to consider your options before deciding what you would like to do – though we are here to offer any support and help should you need it.

Hornstein Opticians are happy to accept other Opticians’ prescriptions as long as these are fairly recent. If unsure whether or not your prescription is valid, please call us for advice. If you have a frame you particularly like we are also happy to put new lenses into this, sometimes for a small charge depending on the type of frame.

Regular Eye Tests

At Hornstein Optician we recommend you receive regular eye examinations giving you an accurate assessment of your eyes and your general level of health.

Emergency Eyecare?

Hornstein Opticians have been involved in the Lanarkshire Eye Health Network Scheme since its inception and our two Optometrists are all accredited to provide emergency eyecare and treatment. We usually have appointments available Monday-Saturday for emergencies if there is a problem.
